Una noche de otoño un estudiante se despertó llorando de su sueño. El profesor vio al estudiante y le preguntó:
- ¿Has tenido una pesadilla?
- No
- ¿Has tenido un sueño triste?
- No… he tenido un bonito sueño.
- ¿Entonces por qué lloras tan triste?
El estudiante secó sus lágrimas y respondió:
- Ese sueño… nunca se hará realidad.

Lloraba Solón la muerte de su hijo.
Un amigo se acerca y le dice:
-¿Por qué lloras, si sabes que es inútil?
-Por eso- contestó Solón- porque sé que es inútil.
